When did the day of "Nuzul Al-Quran" happen?

متى نزل القرآن على سيدنا محمد؟

When did the Al-Quran decended to our Prophet Muhammad?

الحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله وعلى آله وصحبه أما بعد:

All prasies due to Allah and Salawat and Salam to  the Messenger of Allah , his family and his companions

فقد ذهب جمهورالعلماء إلى أن أول ما نزل من القرآن على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم هو الآيات الأول من صَدْرِ سورة العلق وهي قوله تعالى: اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ* خَلَقَ الْأِنْسَانَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ* اقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ الْأَكْرَمُ* الَّذِي عَلَّمَ بِالْقَلَمِ* عَلَّمَ الْأِنْسَانَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ [العلق].

Majority of the scholars has taken the opinion that the first revelation of Al-Quran to Rasullullah S.A.W is the first few verse from Surah Al-Alaq which as Allah said: Recite in the name of your Lord who created  * Created man from a clinging substance * Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous * Who taught by the pen * Taught man that which he knew not.

وقد كان هذا في السابع عشر من رمضان، قال ابن كثير في البداية والنهاية نقلاً عن الواقدي عن أبي جعفر الباقر أنه قال: كان ابتداء الوحي إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يوم الاثنين لسبع عشرة خَلَتْ من رمضان وقيل من الرابع والعشرين. انتهى.

And this happened at 17th of Ramadhan . Said Ibn Kathir in Bidayah Wan Nihayah. A quote from Al-Waaqadi from Abu Ja'far Al-Baaqir he said that: The begining of revelation to Rasullullah S.A.W was on Monday 17th of Ramadhan and there  is also a saying that it was on 27th Ramadhan.
