الحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله أما بعد 

كلمة اليوم : رَبٌّ

The word رب is usually translated to "lord" or "god". It does not always mean lord or god when it attached to another word in the compound of mudof-mudofun ilaihi

رب + البيت = رَبُّ الْبَيْتِ
 Bread winner

رب + ة + البيت = رَبَّةُ الْبَيْتِ
housewife

رب الأُسْرَةِ
Heaf of the family

رَبُّ الْعَمَلِ
Boss or Employer

رب المَالِ
The owner of the wealth. 
*In the dictonary it says that رب could also means "the owner of.."

رب البَنَدُرَةِ
 tomato paste

رَبَّنَا زِذْنَا عِلْماً
Oh our Lord increase our knowledge
